Digital TV

The reasons for delaying the switch to digital TV mainly includes people who are uninformed about what is happening. They delayed it to allow people to learn about what is happening and to get ready for the switch. Many people are unaware of the switch and many more are confused about what is happening.
Some lawmakers are opposed to the delay because they feel it will increase confusion among those who are already confused, and lead to more chaos. Corporations are against it because many wireless companies bought the rights to analog and are waiting to implement new products with it, and the delay hurts them. Also many stations need to run 2 transmitters, one in digital and one in analog, and it costs more money to do so, therefore the longer the delay the more it costs the stations.
The people that need to switch are people with old TV's that have antennas. These are the only people that need to switch, everybody else is fine. What is making this more difficult however is the people that have this setup are usually people who are unaware of how technology works and are confused about technology, so they have a difficult time switching.
Digital TV has a clearer picture and looks nicer so it is beneficial to have digital. Secondly it will help emergency services because emergency signals will be on digital, so it helps the community and the organizations. Finally, analog can be used for wireless phones and since I have Verizon who bought up some analog signals I can get access to new features they want to implement.
